Job summary

Bach to Rock is seeking a Music Specialist to provide instruction to students in group lessons using a proprietary curriculum and to help bands rehearse and record. The role involves directing small groups, documenting progress, and creating a positive, focused rehearsal atmosphere at our Cypress, TX location.

Candidates should be able to adapt to diverse styles, support placement of private students, and assist in school maintenance and customer service tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Teaching certificate or degree in music preferred; those enrolled in a degree program will be considered
• Experienced performer and band member may substitute for degree or licensure
• Experience working with young beginner musicians
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to music students in group lessons using a proprietary curriculum
• Document completed activities and repertoire progress during each band session
• Instruct students in techniques needed to play in small groups
• Direct small groups in playing, performing and recording songs
• Create an encouraging, supportive, focused rehearsal atmosphere
• Move, set up and break down equipment at the school and events
• Assist management with customer service and prospect phone calls
• Assist in basic repair of minor site equipment and instruments
