Job summary

CPL UK Healthcare is seeking a Band 8b Accountable Pharmacist - Cancer Services in Norfolk to lead the reopening and recommissioning of a closed Pharmacy Aseptic Unit (PAU). This senior role requires expert clinical and operational leadership across cancer services, ensuring governance and safety standards are met while supporting the oncology MDT.

Candidates should have current GPhC registration, extensive oncology/pharmacy leadership experience, and the ability to manage a complex workload

Qualifications

• Current GPhC registration.
• Significant cancer services pharmacy experience essential.
• Senior level experience in oncology/haematology.
• Experience in leading cancer services or aseptic unit settings.
• Strong knowledge of cancer treatment protocols, cytotoxic medicines, and BOPA guidelines.
• Experience recommissioning or reopening aseptic units desirable.
• Managerial and operational pharmacy experience desirable.
• Excellent leadership, clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead the reopening and recommissioning of the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit (PAU) to full operating standard.
• Provide expert clinical and operational leadership across cancer services.
• Oversee all aseptic unit pharmacy activities and medicines governance.
• Contribute to development and review of cancer treatment protocols.
• Support the wider oncology multidisciplinary team and display managerial leadership.

• Days: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm
• Pay: £43ph
• Start: ASAP
• Length: 3 to 4 months, with potential to extend

This is a senior and highly specialist opportunity for an experienced Cancer Services Pharmacist to take on an accountable pharmacy role within a busy oncology unit in Norfolk. A key focus of this role will be leading the reopening and recommissioning of a currently closed Pharmacy Aseptic Unit (PAU), overseeing all steps required to bring the unit back into full operation to a high standard of compliance and safety. Ongoing duties will include providing expert clinical and operational pharmacy leadership across cancer services, overseeing all aseptic unit pharmacy activities, ensuring compliance with medicines governance and regulatory standards, contributing to the development and review of cancer treatment protocols, and supporting the wider oncology multidisciplinary team. Managerial and operational leadership will be central to this role.

Requirements

• Current GPhC registration
• Significant and demonstrable experience in cancer services pharmacy - essential
• Proven experience at a senior level within oncology or haematology pharmacy practice
