Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time ballet and pointe instructor with strong proficiency in teaching advanced ballet and pointe curriculum. We need an instructor who can commit to a weekly schedule of at least 1 day per week in the evenings with the potential for more hours and responsibility in the future.

** Availability on Tuesday evenings is required **

Qualifications

• Excellent character, dependable, and punctual
• Strong proficiency in ballet, pointe & pre-pointe is a must (jazz or lyrical experience a plus but not required)
• Experience teaching advanced ballet & pointe curriculum
• Experience with the process of training and preparing students for pointe promotion
• Ability to manage and nurture a group class with a balance between discipline, care, and respect
• Experience choreographing for recitals
• Willingness to help manage recitals and dress rehearsals
• Interest in continuous learning and working together with a team of instructors
• Dance degree, or professional experience not required but a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare class curriculum for structured and appropriately challenging classes
• Work with age-appropriate music and choreography for recital routines
• Execute relevant, motivational and inspiration classes for aspiring dancers
• Maintain class discipline with respect
• Attend monthly staff meetings (flexible)

Compensation

$20-$35/hour
