Albertsons Safeway is seeking a friendly Bakery Sales Clerk to carry out daily bakery operations, display and rotate breads, pastries and cakes, serve customers, take orders and operate the register with accuracy.

This role emphasizes outstanding customer service, adherence to safety standards, and teamwork across the store. Location varies; schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, with benefits available to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate bread slicer and other bakery equipment
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, and read price tags and product labels
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as within a large team
• Regular and predictable attendance; schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Adhere to workplace conduct standards

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with company standards
• Maintain cleanliness of bakery area and display cases
• Inform customers about bakery products and promotions, provide samples
• Take bakery orders over telephone or in person
• Operate electronic cash register and handle payments with accuracy
• Replace stock in bakery area as needed
• Move trays of bakery goods to display area
• Monitor bakery area for expired items and markdown decisions
• Use sales reports to identify sales opportunities
• Use price labeling machine and apply price stickers
• Adhere to uniform and grooming policy
