Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking a Bakery/Packager associate in Great Falls, MT. You will help bake items, wrap, label, and store merchandise to ensure freshness for members, while supporting the bakery team and serving customers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other associates to build a strong bakery team; communicate with members of the team and be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
• Prepare bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment; follow recipes; wrap, label, and store merchandise according to company policies and procedures; ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
• Ensure commitment to operational excellence, maintain work area according to company policies and procedures; ensure quality and date control standards for bakery items; secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise; eliminate waste; assist members with purchasing decisions; and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member’s experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.
