Albertsons Companies in Montclair, NJ is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to lead daily bakery operations, ensuring quality, freshness and outstanding customer service. You will manage a skilled team, plan production, and execute merchandising strategies to drive sales and store success.

You will champion a hands-on, fast-paced work environment, focus on safety and training of bakery associates, and adapt to seasonal demand with flexible scheduling including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have previous bakery department management experience.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort with flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Bakery Department operations, ensuring high standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service.
• Foster a welcoming, customer-focused environment and resolve customer concerns and special orders.
• Plan and execute daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs.
• Manage department sales, labor, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and shrink.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.

Main responsibilities :

• Oversee daily Bakery Department operations, ensuring high standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service

• Ability to review sales, labor, and production data to inform departmental planning
• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates at various skill levels
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments
