Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Wisconsin is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, and maintain high service standards. You will supervise associates, manage scheduling, monitor quality and safety, and execute promotions in partnership with store management.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
• Communicate department and job information to associates.
• Establish department goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train associates and participate in performance appraisal.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take action as needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute promotions with store management.
• Educate associates about in-store promotions and impact on the department.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for sales/merchandising supervisor.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Assist with budget, expense control, and review financial reports.
• Schedule price changes and maintain shelf tags.
• Organize inventory processes and train staff on CAO.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and logs are kept.
• Reinforce safety programs and report safety risks or incidents.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to customers including minors and seniors when needed.
• Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
