Job summary

Ridley’s Family Markets in Star, Idaho is seeking a Bakery Department Lead to oversee daily bakery operations, ensure quality, and maintain customer satisfaction. You will guide and develop the team, cost out materials, prepare production sheets, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of products and service.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Education/Training: High School Diploma, some college preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years retail experience.
• Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead and develop others.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and task with a high attention to detail.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.

• Provide professional examples for other store team members to follow.
• Assist in the planning, organization, and direction of the activities of the Bakery Department.
• Know and have the ability to cost out all material to determine proper retails.
• Know and have the ability to do a master production sheet.
• Aid in the development and growth of all department personnel by ensuring regular implementation of company training, evaluation, and counseling procedures.
• Possess sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others all fundamentals of bakery production. This will include mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying and finishing.
• Assist in maintaining effective department security in compliance with company policy and directives.
• Maintain an awareness of competitive activity within the store marketing areas at all times as it relates to the Bakery Department. Also, maintain awareness and concern for the company's interest and investment at all times through the regular practice of sound, honest judgment.
• Maintain a high level of coordination and communication with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of products and service throughout the store and within the bakery operation.
• Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
