Job summary

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required and demonstrated.
• Effective communication with customers and team.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure needs are met.
• Use bakery equipment and adhere to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and recipes.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients with various utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Review 'sell by' dates and take appropriate action.
• Maintain temperatures in cases and coolers and keep logs.
• Explain products and respond to customer questions with knowledge.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
