Fred Meyer, Inc. in Salem, Oregon, is seeking a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create an outstanding customer experience by delivering friendly, efficient service and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and quality goals while modeling the company values of respect, integrity, and safety. You will help customers with sample items, inform them of bakery/deli specials, manage inventory, and ensure foods are prepared according to recipes

Formación

• Customer service skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed

Responsabilidades

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions.
