Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) prepares items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer samples to customers to highlight products.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and promotions.
• Provide fresh, correctly portioned products to meet customer orders.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, mix and prepare ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers with logs.
• Ensure safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Monitor inventory and communicate discrepancies.
• Be able to work cooperatively in high-paced environments.
