Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with ordered products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
  • Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
