Job Responsibilities
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise adequately.
- Check product quality for freshness, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
- Understand store layout and locate products upon request.
- Stay updated with current, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions, offering suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
