Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend products to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate actions.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
  • Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer product questions.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Handle customer and employee accidents appropriately.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with honesty and integrity.
  • Support and assist diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
