Job Description: Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and demonstrate our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers about bakery and deli specials.
• Provide fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend products to customers based on their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following safety guidelines.
• Follow food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes.
• Label, package, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality and review expiration dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs for cases and coolers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, report discrepancies and unsafe conditions.
• Assist customers with product location and questions, and promote a welcoming environment.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with integrity.
• Support customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications:

• Customer service and effective communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge.
• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit.

Preferred Experience:

• Bakery or deli experience.
• Retail experience.
