Job summary

McKeever Price Chopper is hiring a Bakery Clerk to help prepare and display bakery items, assist customers with special orders, and keep the department clean and inviting.

You will support daily bakery operations, ensure freshness and quality, and contribute to a friendly shopping experience for guests in Independence, MO. Prior food service or retail experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Food service or retail experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and respond to bakery inquiries with excellent service.
• Package, label, and stock breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
• Rotate and face bakery items for freshness and appeal.
• Assist with slicing, bagging, and displaying goods.
• Take custom cake orders and relay details to decorators.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment per health regs.
• Support team with setup, cleanup, and stocking.
