Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Carrollton, Texas, is hiring a Bakery Clerk (ages 16-17) for Store 070 Carrollton. You will provide friendly customer service, assist bakery purchases, and help with order taking and decorating in a fast-paced grocery setting.

You’ll work under supervision in a busy bakery, with responsibilities including cleaning shelves, restocking, and coordinating with the bakery team to determine baking needs. Positions require physical ability to lift and move items regularly.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with the public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence for customers and team members.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Follow instructions and carry out tasks with basic understanding.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery.

The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases. Cleans, fills, and rotates the self serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders. They will also work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position will also help in the department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
