Job summary

Chedraui USA is hiring a Bakery Clerk for the Houston area. Under supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers, handle bakery displays, and support daily department tasks in a fast-paced grocery setting.

This role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, the ability to lift, and a Food Handler Card or equivalent certification. Basic PC/Outlook skills are a plus; prior retail experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally and standing for extended periods.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases, clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders and with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position also helps with department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.
