Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead an amazing team at our Anderson bakery-cafe. You will oversee hiring, training, and development, and partner with the General Manager to deliver outstanding guest service, quality, and operations.

You will energize the team, manage staffing and scheduling, control costs, and uphold Panera’s guiding values while fostering warmth, belonging, growth, and trust in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen
• Proven ability to run great shifts in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Background check required

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager with key decisions and problem solving
• Plan and manage staffing, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members while motivating and celebrating the team
• Manage team performance to meet bakery-cafe goals, quality standards, and guest service expectations
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on processes and Panera’s values
• Ensure guest delight through food, service, and team interactions
• Build relationships to foster long-term guest loyalty
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives
• Ensure compliance with policies and local regulations
• Maintain a safe, healthy workplace and control costs and inventory
• Contribute to a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust
