Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. in Newton, NC is hiring a full-time Machine Operator to support a team-focused production line. You will operate automated equipment, diagnose faults, assist in preventative maintenance, and ensure product quality and safety.

Expect cross-training across the production process and a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety. Starting at $24.34/hr, familiarity with enterprise data input and reporting is a plus.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience as a technician and/or formal training with certificate of completion.
• Experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; welding, electronics, electrical repairs, industrial equipment installations, alignment, start-up repairs.
• Two years as machine operator in a manufacturing environment with documented responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Checks and adheres to production work schedule for job assignments and work reporting times.
• Operates facility metal detector(s) after training and certification.
• Performs start-up/shut-down sanitation and limited preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Ensures work areas are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Maintains production schedules, running order, and formulas.
• Scales and stages ingredients according to standards.
• Loads product into proper containers and performs quality inspections.
• Provides breaks for operators as needed and supports teamwork.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
