Job summary

Safeway's bakery department is seeking a self-motivated team member to help drive superior customer service and department profitability. The role focuses on pricing, display, ordering and inventory control to maintain high standards and strong customer satisfaction across the bakery.

You will assist the Bakery Manager with staff supervision, scheduling, training and duties, while ensuring compliance with division programs and seasonal schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum of one year as Baker.
• Strong customer service qualities.
• Strong leadership ability.
• Highly motivated and team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead department as a positive role model and supervise staff including scheduling, training, and duties.
• Assist Bakery Manager in implementing merchandising programs and department operations.
• Ensure presentation, cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, and signage meet standards.
• Ensure product quality and availability for customers.
• Assist with production, sales, baking and decoration when needed.
• Support management and complete related duties as assigned.
