Job summary

Aramark Corporation in Towson, MD, is seeking a baker to prepare a variety of foods according to production guidelines and recipes. You will set up workstations, measure ingredients, operate ovens and mixers, and ensure food safety and sanitation.

This role emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and adherence to safety policies; candidates with prior baking experience and food safety certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous baker experience and knowledge of baking methods.
• Understanding of food safety standards, handling, sanitation and storage.
• Required to obtain food safety certification(s).
• Basic math and counting skills are expected.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Bake and prepare a variety of foods per production guidelines and recipes.

• Measure, weigh, mix and chop ingredients as required.
• Operate ovens, stoves, mixers and other equipment safely.
• Use knives and utensils safely and properly.
• Store food following safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor with guests and colleagues.
• Follow Aramark safety policies, including proper food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure security of company assets.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $17.03 to $17.03. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
• Proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Required to obtain food safety certification(s)
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
