Job summary

Sam’s Club Bakery/Packager associates prepare fresh baked items daily by following recipes, wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise for our members. You’ll juggle tasks in a fast-paced environment while helping members with bakery orders and maintaining a clean, member-ready area.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Team Member: Collaborate with other associates to build a strong bakery team, communicate with the team members, and be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
  • Be an Expert: Prepare bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment; follow recipes/make-up instructions; wrap, label, and store merchandise according to company policies and procedures; ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitise equipment; and demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
  • Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use hand-held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner: Commit to operational excellence, maintain the work area according to company policies and procedures; ensure quality and date control standards for bakery items; secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise; eliminate waste; assist members with purchasing decisions; and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member’s experience in the meat area and modelling high-quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; and exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Position Summary… Do you have a knack for helping people, following recipes, and staying organized? Our Bakery/Packager associates prepare fresh baked items daily for our members by following recipes, wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise to ensure our members have the freshest items available to take home to their families. There are times when you will juggle several tasks in a short amount of time while helping members with their bakery orders. It’s hard work, but our bakery team finds it rewarding, especially since they’re a part of a large team with a common goal: happy, satisfied members.

Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.50 to $26.50*.

  • The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
