Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is seeking a bakery/kitchen helper to assist in the baked goods area, preparing and producing all baked items. You will support teammates, maintain sanitation, and ensure clean, properly stocked workstations throughout shifts.

The role requires basic reading and math for recipes, effective communication with staff, and the ability to operate kitchen equipment such as bread slicers, mixers and ovens. This is an on-site position in Las Vegas.

Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Assist with the work in the baked goods area of the kitchen to include the preparation and production of all baked items.

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

• Actively participates with co-workers to complete all job assignments.
• Adheres to control procedure for food costs, labor costs and quality.
• Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing/restocking workstation with supplies.
• Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
• "CLEAN AS YOU GO" - Keep your workstation neat and orderly, and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to standards.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

• Requires reading and math skill for recipes and measurements.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to co-workers.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete food requisitions menus and recipes and communicate with other employees.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform duties within hot to normal to cold temperature ranges.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use knives and kitchen tools.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment including bread slicer, mixers, and ovens.
• Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry 60 lbs. max, or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart/rack weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
• Ability to stand, move and work throughout the workstation for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to work with small, delicate and sensitive knives requiring fine finger dexterity.
• Ability to walk and work 90 percent of the time to a maximum of two miles/shift.
• Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
