Maman is seeking a back-of-house baker to join our kitchen team in a fast-growing cafe-bakery environment. You will bake in a dedicated station, learn maman's family-inspired recipes, and help keep the kitchen clean, safe, and organized.

Responsibilities

• Bake and create in a specific station.
• Learn maman recipes and follow the recipe book.
• Keep the kitchen sparkling and organized.
• Assist with restocking at shift end; support teammates.
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to maman's policies.
• Communicate well with the BOH team.
• Assist other BOH roles during slower times.

maman is a cafe-bakery-kitchen-event-catering company founded in 2014 by owners Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte in soho nyc, focusing on homemade baked goods and comforting foods that bring them back to their own mothers’ cooking and warmth of home. maman offers delicious food and beverage as well as aesthetically pleasing spaces covered in rustic charm, blue and white ceramics, custom designed cups, and plenty of bunnies and greenery. maman is many things in one but it all stems back to family and the strong family we create within our team. we aim to serve your daily coffee and lunch, cater your next major event, or host the most special occasions in your life.

What you’ll do:

You will be working alongside the BOH/kitchen team.

• Bake and create in a specific station
• Learn the maman recipes andfollow the recipe book’s instructions
• Always keep the kitchen sparkling, no one likes working in a messy place!
• Assist with re-stocking at the end of your shift – team work makes the dream work, set your self & your colleagues up for success
• Keep the kitchen/BOH space in pristine clean and organized shape
• Always ensure consistency in quality and esthetics of maman’s dishes
• Assist the various BOH teams during slow times
• Maintain safety standards while adhering to maman’s policies and procedures
• Great communication with the BOH team
• At maman everyone does a bit of everything. We all like to switch it up and help out with any position on the floor. We truly believe team work makes the dream work and don’t have cookie cutter job descriptions

Compensation

$16 per hour

Keep in mind that maman is growing and developing everyday. We all do a little bit of everything & like to roll our sleeves up and get our hands dirty to help a colleague out.
