Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, Texas is seeking a Bakery Associate to prepare cakes, donuts, cookies, and other products according to recipes while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. You will handle ingredients, operate ovens and mixers, and manage display presentation and labeling.

You will greet customers, answer questions, and help locate products, maintaining a clean, safe workplace and supporting sales through friendly service.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills for following recipes.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be attentive to potential hazards and report them to a supervisor.
• Six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes to prepare cakes, donuts, cookies, and other products according to customer orders or as needed for display.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, shaping, and scoring them.
• Operates commercial baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, dough proofers.
• Completes production lists and special order requests, packages and labels products.
• Maintains attractive product presentation and rotates stock to ensure quality and freshness.
• Greet customers, answer questions, respond to complaints, and assist in locating products.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment per safety procedures.
• Promotes product sales via suggestive selling initiatives.
