Job description

Diversified Conveyors International (DCI) is seeking motivated and safety-focused Baggage Conveyor Installers to join our growing Field Operations team. This position is responsible for installing, assembling, and commissioning baggage handling and conveyor systems at airports, distribution centers, and parcel facilities throughout the United States.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on mechanical work, thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment, and is willing to travel extensively to support customer projects nationwide.

Essential Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and align conveyor systems, baggage handling equipment, and related mechanical components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, installation plans, and specifications.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment to complete installations.
• Assist with conveyor belt installation, pulley alignment, mechanical assembly, and system integration activities.
• Perform rigging, material handling, and equipment positioning activities safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Identify and report installation issues, safety concerns, and quality deficiencies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety procedures.
• Support project startup, testing, and commissioning activities as required.
• Travel to project sites nationwide and work overtime as needed to support project schedules.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in conveyor installation, industrial construction, mechanical assembly, millwright work, material handling systems, or related field.
• Ability to read tape measures and use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to work at heights, on lifts, ladders, and elevated work platforms.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience installing baggage handling systems (BHS), parcel conveyors, sortation systems, or material handling equipment.
• Experience in airport, warehouse automation, or distribution center environments.
• Scissor lift, boom lift, forklift, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or fall protection certifications.
• Millwright, ironworker, rigger, or industrial construction experience.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as project schedules require.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 100% travel nationwide.
• Company-paid travel accommodations and eligible per diem provided in accordance with company policy.
