Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods in Ottumwa, IA seeks a Bacon Production Supervisor to lead shift operations, ensure safety and productivity, and train team members. You will work with other supervisors to meet production schedules and apply company policies on the floor.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work 1st and 2nd shifts. Bilingual abilities are a plus; HS Diploma/GED required with college preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Supervisory skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
• 1-2 years of direct supervisory/management experience
• Must be able to work both 1st and 2nd shift hours
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak multiple languages beneficial.
• High School Diploma/GED required; college education preferred
• Good attendance record (3 points or less for internal candidates)

Responsibilities

• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.
• Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained (i.e., payroll, yields).
• Work closely with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility.
• Attend meetings as scheduled or called. Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned.
• Supervise, evaluate and direct personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
• Stimulate maximum safety, efficiency and productivity of production workers; ensure proper training of employees.
• Anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate actions to meet production schedules.
• Work closely with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility.
