Description

We’re currently looking for an Occasional Backup Babysitter in Chandler, AZ (85286)

A family in Chandler is seeking a reliable, experienced, and nurturing babysitter to provide occasional backup care for their 9-month-old daughter. Their daughter attends full-time daycare, and the family is looking for additional support with daycare pickups, evening care, and occasional early morning drop-offs.

• Schedule: As-needed
  • Primarily Monday-Friday
  • Typical hours are 5:30 PM-7:30 PM
  • Approximately 2-3 times per month
  • One week's advance notice
  • Rare early morning needs from 5:00 AM-7:30 AM
  • Weekend availability is a plus but not required.
• Start Date: ASAP, ideally by mid-November
• End Date: Ongoing
• Rate: $25 per hour + Mileage reimbursement (IRS = $0.76 per mile)
• 1 Child: 9-month-old girl

Responsibilities

• Pick up the child from daycare and safely transport her home (approximately 5 miles).
• Provide attentive, nurturing care through age-appropriate play and activities.
• Prepare and serve meals or bottles according to the parents' guidelines.
• Assist with the bedtime routine, including bathing, feeding, rocking, and monitoring while asleep.
• Occasionally assist with early morning routines and daycare drop-offs.
• Maintain open communication with the parents regarding the child's care and well-being.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of paid childcare experience with infants of a similar age
• Infant CPR certification required
• Must have a valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance.
• Must have a clean driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
• Must successfully pass background and social media checks.
• Must provide at least 2 references from previous paid childcare positions.
• Comfortable working in a home with two friendly, medium-sized dogs (approximately 30 and 40 lbs)
• Weekend availability is a plus but not required.

Compensation

This position pays $25 per hour. The family is seeking occasional backup care approximately 2-3 times per month, typically for 2-3 hours per visit. Mileage for daycare transportation will be reimbursed directly by the family at $0.76 per mile, and the family will provide a car seat. Care will take place in a gated community near Downtown Chandler, AZ.
