Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Backhoe Operator to support earthmoving tasks at our project sites. You will operate a hydraulic shovel attached to a tractor or train, dig trenches and holes, and assist with material handling under supervision.

The role includes on-the-job training, emphasis on safety, and the ability to work in dusty or dirty surroundings. A High School Diploma or equivalent and proper certification are required to join our team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent years of experience.
• Proper certification is required as part of the role.
• On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate a backhoe with hydraulic shovel to dig trenches and holes per specifications.
• Move and load earth, gravel, and other materials as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure equipment cleanliness and safety.
