Responsibilities

  • Serves as Background Check Associate.
  • Performs data entry of CANTS, Sex Offender Registry System (SORS), National Sex Offender Registry System (NSORS), Out-of-State CANTS, Interstate Criminal History, Illinois State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and/or driver eligibility status for facility drivers into the appropriate Departmental system.
  • Prepares, keyboards, and maintains complex, highly specialized Background Check Unit (BCU) reports and other reports related to application and recommendation materials processed through Central Office.
  • Serves as liaison to requesting parties regarding information on Authorization for Background Check.
  • Serves as Central Office of Licensing contact for all issues concerning facility driver checks.
  • Receives, sorts, reviews, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
