Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is hiring a Backflow Inspector to perform building backflow inspections, test devices, and document results. You will support the Lead Inspector and Inspection Manager in data collection and paperwork, ensuring timely, accurate reports.

Preferred candidates have NFPA knowledge, NICET/AWWA-NV certification readiness, and 1–3 years in fire and life safety. Physical work includes lifting and climbing in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent acceptable with experience.
• Must possess and maintain AWWA-NV Water Use Efficiency Practitioner certification upon hire.
• 1–3 years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a Backflow Inspector.
• Study NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems; stay current with code changes.
• NICET certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform backflow inspections and test building backflow control panels and devices.
• Enter test results and generate Backflow Inspection Reports and Certificates.
• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork.
• Download inspection data and complete Backflow Inspection Reports after site work.
• Attend monthly team meetings and support other duties as assigned.

Duties include assisting both the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in collecting data and generating any necessary paperwork (Backflow Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates).Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure that all inspections are completed on a timely basis and that inspections are done accurately and thoroughly.Testing of all building backflow control panels, devices, and functions of the system and entering the test results into the Palm handheld device.Upon completion of an inspection download the information and generate a completed Backflow Inspection Report.Participate in monthly team meetings.Perform other duties assigned by management.Education/Qualifications:College Degree is preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent is acceptable with acceptable experience.Must possess and maintain a valid AWWA- NV Water Use Efficiency Practitioner certification upon hire.1 - 3 years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a Backflow Inspector.Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
