Job summary

The City and County of Honolulu, through the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Water Quality Division, seeks a Cross-Connection Control Technician I in Honolulu. Under supervision, the role performs routine cross-connection and backflow prevention duties, including plan reviews and field tests of backflow assemblies.

Responsibilities include inspections, testing, maintenance and certification of backflow devices, data management, and related tasks. A valid Type 3 driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience reviewing and reading blueprints and construction plans.
• Proven ability to interpret symbols and terminologies used in construction plans and building permits.
• Valid driver's license (automobile/Type 3) prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans with permit applications for cross-connection compliance.
• Assist in field inspections and testing of backflow prevention assemblies.
• Test, inspect, maintain, repair, and certify backflow prevention assemblies.
• Record, update, and maintain data in manual and electronic files.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
