Job summary

IBM is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join the OneIT team in Rochester, MN. You will contribute to enterprise-scale backend projects, learning from experienced engineers and growing within a global tech leader.

You will help build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integrations, collaborating with frontend, architecture, and product teams while writing clean, well-documented code and participating in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Candidate currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with core programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, or Golang.
• Familiarity with SDLC & Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions).
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with Git and cloud platforms is a plus (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and data integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, architects, and product managers.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities.
• Support deployment and monitoring of backend applications in cloud/hybrid environments.
