Job summary

ByteDance is seeking graduates to join the DCS platform team in New York. You will help build platforms and tools for interaction with large-scale production systems, while improving engineering productivity.

You’ll design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software, bringing new ideas and technologies into the platform to support data center operations and cloud services. Ideal candidates have completed degrees in CS or related fields, with strong programming skills, a passion for IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Two or more of: web development, Unix/Linux, distributed/parallel systems, networking, or building software systems.
• Strong programming and problem-solving foundations with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Interest in IT Operations concepts such as DICM, ITOM, or ITSM; coursework or exposure is a plus.

The DCS platform team's goal is to build all the necessary and advanced tooling to support full‑lifecycle operation and management of domestic and overseas data centers, covering data center infrastructure operation and maintenance, server delivery, server operation, asset and resource management, platform tooling, as well as cloud services and server system services. Our vision is to provide highly available, stable, high‑performance, and cost‑effective computing resources for all business lines of the company.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
• Coursework, academic projects, or internship experience in two or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, networking systems, or building software systems.
• Strong foundational programming and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
• Genuine interest in IT Operations concepts such as Discovery, Insights, and Configuration Management (DICM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), or IT Service Management (ITSM); prior coursework or exposure is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to GPU computing, big data technologies (Hadoop/Kafka/Apache), or streaming/computing concepts through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Software development experience with Golang or Python, through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with the web stack, including protocols and basic web server concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues in an academic, internship, or personal project setting.
