Job summary

E-Frontiers is seeking a Backend Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Chicago team on a hybrid schedule. You will extend a Java-based QA automation framework, design test cases, and verify high-performance trading systems including FIX interfaces and data integrity.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to uphold rigorous quality standards, test admin and customer interfaces with Playwright, and monitor system performance and security compliance in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of QA / software testing experience, ideally in financial services.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, FIX and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Cucumber, Playwright and JUnit.

Responsibilities

• Extend and maintain a Java-based QA automation framework.
• Design and build manual and automated test cases for high-performance exchange and clearing platforms.
• Rigorously test all interfaces, including FIX protocol, proprietary binary formats and file formats.
• Test admin and customer-facing interfaces using Playwright and manual approaches, covering functionality, data integrity, security compliance and performance.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define and enforce rigorous quality standards.

Backend Quality Assurance Specialist – Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 base + discretionary annual bonus

E-Frontiers is partnering with a fast-growing, CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse in Chicago to hire a Backend QA Specialist. You'll drive quality across the core Exchange, Clearing and Instrument management systems, extending the QA automation framework and building out comprehensive testing for high-performance trading infrastructure.

What you'll do

What you'll bring
