Job summary

Robotics Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced Backend Python Developer to join our Phoenix team. You will design, build, and scale API-driven services using Python frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django) with PostgreSQL and modern async architectures.

You will implement secure authentication, error handling, logging, and monitoring, while integrating with distributed systems and microservices. This contract role spans 8 months with extension potential, offering C2C options and a strong focus

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Python backend development and software engineering.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with Flask/FastAPI/Django.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including queries, design, and optimization.
• Experience with API integrations, authentication, error handling, and logging.
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing, background jobs, and distributed systems.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration frameworks like Temporal, Airflow, or Celery.
• Experience with real-time communication technologies (WebSockets, Socket.IO).
• Proficient with Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer with hands‑on experience in backend development, API engineering, and building scalable application solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, Flask, FastAPI, Django, and PostgreSQL, along with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, services, and APIs using Python.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
• Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, and data access operations using PostgreSQL.
• Develop backend integrations with internal and external systems, implementing secure authentication, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
• Implement asynchronous programming, background processing, and distributed workflows to support high-volume applications.
• Develop and maintain workflow orchestration and task execution solutions using technologies such as Temporal, Apache Airflow, or Celery.
• Implement real‑time communication capabilities using WebSockets, Socket.IO, and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams through Git-based workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Support application containerization, deployment, and release management using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement secure backend solutions using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and microservices-based architecture.
• Explore and integrate AI capabilities, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI‑driven workflow automation into backend applications.
• Troubleshoot complex backend issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Take ownership of development deliverables, contribute to technical improvements, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Python backend development and software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including object‑oriented programming, asynchronous programming, and backend application development.
• Hands‑on experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services using Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including SQL queries, database design, and performance optimization.
• Experience with API integrations, authentication mechanisms, error handling, logging, and backend troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of asynchronous processing, background jobs, and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience or familiarity with workflow orchestration frameworks such as Temporal, Apache Airflow, or Celery.
• Exposure to real‑time communication technologies such as WebSockets and Socket.IO.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Pytest, unittest, or equivalent testing frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative code review practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑based application deployments.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWT, microservices architecture, and secure API development.
• Exposure to AI integrations, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI‑powered workflow automation is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical challenges.
