Job summary

Front is the customer operations platform built for B2B complexity. As a Software Engineer on the Foundations team, you’ll work at the intersection of platform engineering and developer experience, building the systems that power features rather than the UI that users click.

You’ll design for scale, improve reliability and observability, own CI/CD pipelines, and partner with other engineering teams to shape Front’s backend architecture.

Qualifications

• Backend JS/TS experience building frameworks, libraries, or internal tools.
• Experience designing distributed systems with reliability and observability.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and database ORM usage.

Responsibilities

• Build shared backend frameworks, libraries, and internal tooling used by Front's engineering teams.
• Design and implement reliable, observable systems including task queues, ORM, and real-time event infrastructure.
• Own and evolve CI/CD systems and delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to establish patterns and drive adoption of new frameworks.
• Influence Front's backend architecture and engineering-wide standards.
• Navigate ambiguity and deliver complex solutions.
