Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer 3 – Core Java in Charlotte, NC for a 6-month hybrid contract. The role focuses on backend Java development, migrating a JSF application to React, and building microservices with Kafka, Spring Boot, and MongoDB.

OpenShift/Kubernetes and cloud experience are preferred. The team collaborates in an Agile/Kanban environment and participates in quarterly production releases as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Java development experience.
• Strong Core Java backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Strong experience with Kafka.
• Experience with React.
• Ability to understand and work with large, complex legacy Java applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Support modernization of a legacy Java/JSF application to React.
• Design and maintain microservices integrating with MongoDB.
• Develop and support Kafka integrations, including filters and event processing.
• Analyze and modify complex legacy Java code.
• Deploy and support applications within OpenShift/Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers and business partners within a Kanban/Agile team.
• Participate in quarterly production releases as needed.
