Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience building backend systems and APIs in production environments.
• Experience with Java (or similar), PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Designing, building, and validating data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and quality checks.
• Understanding of API design principles.
• Exposure to healthcare data standards (FHIR, CDA) or external health data sources.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work across teams.
• Commitment to AI-assisted work standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems for ingesting and processing health record data from external sources (e.g., EHRs, third-party health platforms).
• Build and support robust data pipelines to clean, normalize, and structure health record data for reliable downstream consumption.
• Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs and services that expose health record data to internal systems and member-facing features.
• Apply best practices for data privacy, security, and access control when working with sensitive health data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, and engineering teams to unlock new health insights and capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable systems.
