Ergo is a forward-thinking company transforming customer conversations into structured CRM data and insights. We are seeking a Backend Engineer to build scalable infrastructure and systems that keep the platform fast and reliable while handling massive data volumes and AI-driven workflows.

You will architect ingestion pipelines, design robust distributed services, and develop integrations with CRMs and collaboration tools, working closely with founders and customers to iterate rapidly.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.
• Comfortable designing APIs and working with distributed systems.
• Interested in real-time data processing, AI workflows, and large-scale ingestion challenges.
• Thrive in ambiguity, bias toward action, and enjoy building from zero to one.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teammates.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale ingestion pipelines and APIs to handle millions of daily events across calls, emails, and messages.
• Design robust distributed systems that ensure uptime, resilience, and sub-second response times.
• Build infrastructure for advanced AI agents that handle sales tasks—like CRM updates, follow-ups, and insights—across diverse customer setups.
• Develop deep integrations with CRMs, communication tools, and productivity platforms.
• Work directly with founders and customers to scope features, gather feedback, and iterate quickly.
