EUROPEAN DYNAMICS Group is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to lead a data-intensive backend project. You will own an existing codebase, stabilize it, and evolve it for scalable, maintainable architectures.

The role requires handling complex systems and collaborating with semantic engineers on RDF/SPARQL-driven workflows. You will contribute to architecture, documentation, and deployments, with emphasis on code quality, testing, and best practices in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder

Formación

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Apache Airflow and AWS.
• Data-intensive or integration-heavy systems experience.
• APIs, batch processing, and backend services.
• Configuration-driven systems (XML/JSON/YAML).
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with legacy codebases.
• Familiarity with RDF/SPARQL/OWL is a plus.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join a technically demanding project involving data-intensive processing, system integration, and semantic technologies. You will play a key role in taking ownership of an existing codebase, stabilising it, and evolving it in line with project requirements. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is comfortable working with complex systems and understands data-driven architectures.

• Strong proficiency in Python

• Debugging and working with legacy codebases
• Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder projects (EU or public-sector projects is a plus)
• Familiarity with Semantic Web technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL)
• Experience with data modelling or knowledge-based systems
• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerisation)
• Experience contributing to or maintaining technical documentation (e.g. AsciiDoc, Antora)
