Job summary

Rwindia is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to develop, test, deploy, and support backend services and integrations for private cloud solutions built around Nutanix and VMware virtualization platforms. You will own features end to end, ensuring code quality, security, reliability, and production readiness.

The role requires hands-on experience with Perl, PostgreSQL, APIs, and relational data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering and production systems experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Perl.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of backend architecture, APIs, SQL, and relational data models.
• Experience with automated testing, deployment, production support, and incident troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, workflows, and integrations for private cloud provisioning and operations.
• Design and manage relational databases, data models, and SQL queries.
• Integrate backend applications with Nutanix, VMware, and other virtualization platforms.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and identify risks and dependencies early.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools while validating generated code for correctness, security, and reliability.
• Write automated tests, validate failure scenarios, and ensure production readiness.
• Review code for design, maintainability, security, and reliability.
• Provide production support, participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate technical dependencies across teams.

• Experience with managed hosting, cloud platforms, or high-availability environments.
• Experience maintaining legacy systems, reviewing code, and mentoring engineers.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams and time zones.
