Job summary

Apaleo, the world’s open, API-first property management platform, is hiring a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to help build scalable services. You’ll work on .NET 10 backends in Docker, design RESTful APIs, and own features from database design to deployment.

Collaboration with product, frontend, and other backend engineers shapes a fast-growing hospitality tech platform. You’ll contribute to reliable, testable systems with unit and e2e tests, and explore AI-assisted coding tools to boost

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience delivering backend features end-to-end in a cloud environment.
• Strong .NET/C# backend development experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Docker-based workflows.
• Familiarity with microservices and API-driven architectures.
• Interest in AI-assisted coding tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Implement and extend backend services for the platform using .NET 10 running in Docker containers.
• Develop features end-to-end from database design through business logic to RESTful APIs.
• Contribute to keeping the platform scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
• Monitor services in production and help identify and resolve issues early.
• Write clean, well-tested code, including unit and e2e tests.
• Take ownership of technical projects, driving end-to-end delivery with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Be Up To

• Implement and extend backend services for the platform using .NET 10 running in Docker containers.
• Develop features end-to-end, from database design through business logic to RESTful APIs .

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• A degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience independently delivering backend features end-to-end in a cloud environment .
• Solid experience with .NET / C# backend development.
• Hands-on experience with at least some of the following:
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Docker and basic containerized workflows
• Cloud platforms such as AWS
• Message-based or asynchronous systems (e.g., Kafka or equivalents)
• Familiarity with microservices concepts and API-driven architectures.
• Comfortable breaking down tasks, estimating work, and delivering features incrementally.
• Experience or interest in using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot ) to improveproductivityand code quality.

Nice to have

• First experience with Kafka or other streaming / messaging systems.
• Basic experience with performance tuning or database optimizations.
• Experience working in SaaS or API-first products.
