Job summary
WHOOP in Boston is seeking a Software Engineer II on the Core team to build foundational backend services powering the WHOOP App and member experiences across fitness, sleep, strain and recovery.
You will collaborate with engineers, product, design and data science to translate product needs into scalable, reliable systems, improve observability, and deliver production-quality software that supports an industry-leading wellness platform.
Qualifications
- Experience working with cloud platforms and asynchronous systems such as Kafka or SQS.
- Designing, testing, and maintaining reliable, scalable backend services.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver production-quality software independently while collaborating with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Own design, implementation, and delivery of backend services powering member experiences.
- Collaborate with engineers, product, design, and data science to shape and build user-facing features.
- Improve reliability, performance, and observability through testing and monitoring.
- Translate product requirements into actionable engineering work and manage risks.
