Oscar is seeking a Backend Engineer to build scalable APIs powering its AI platform for enterprise and developers. You will design, implement, and operate robust backend services with Python, focusing on performance and reliability.

This hybrid role based in Boston offers $140,000 to $170,000 base salary plus equity, with core in-office days and flexible remote options. Health benefits, PTO, and career growth resources are included.

• Expand the capabilities and use cases supported by the company's APIs.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance across core systems.
• Establish strong architectural foundations for long-term growth.
• Accelerate the company's ability to serve both B2B and B2C customers.
• Collaborate with engineers and product leaders to scope, design, and execute API projects.
• Design, build, test, and deploy API features and improvements.
• Maintain and operate production APIs to ensure reliability and performance.
• Debug issues and continuously improve system stability and scalability.
• Contribute to team knowledge through mentorship, demos, and technical discussions.
