Job summary

Errgo is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build distributed systems and high-scale APIs. You will own features end-to-end from design to production, collaborating with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust, performant services.

You will work with PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, implement authentication, authorization, and rate limiting, and deploy on AWS/GCP with Kubernetes. A background building production systems at scale and strong opinions on API design are

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and caching (Redis).
• Experience with AWS/GCP and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).

About the role

As a Backend Engineer, the candidate will design and build the distributed systems and APIs that form the backbone of the platform. The infrastructure handles millions of requests per day, requiring engineers who take pride in building highly robust and performant systems that scale reliably under load.This role offers end-to-end ownership of features—from initial design discussions through production deployment and ongoing maintenance. The engineer will work closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to ship high-impact features while maintaining the reliability and performance that users depend on. The team values craftsmanship, clear communication, and a bias toward action.The ideal candidate has experience building production systems at scale and is comfortable navigating ambiguity. They have strong opinions on API design, database optimization, and system architecture—but hold them loosely and collaborate well with others.
