Job summary

IBM is seeking a Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions that support our cloud and enterprise applications. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Foundational knowledge of backend development, including experience with client-server architectures, networking protocols, and database management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps is advantageous.
• The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a keen interest in continuous learning and technological advancement.
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, APIs, and services that are scalable, secure, and reliable.
• Create and configure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications to meet client needs.
• Develop well-documented, user-friendly RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration across systems.
• Design and optimize server applications, firmware, and databases to ensure reusability and scalability while meeting architecture goals.
• Implement and adhere to Agile and Cloud DevOps development methodologies to enhance deployment efficiency and system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and implement large-scale systems supporting continuous delivery both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve development processes and solutions.
