Job description

We are seeking an experienced Backend/Core Java Developer to join our global Repo IT development team.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java/J2EE technologies, API development, and enterprise application architecture.

This role involves working on FIS Apex and Transcend applications, re-engineering legacy flows, and contributing to cloud migration initiatives.

The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability to new technologies, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the global Repo IT development team to deliver robust backend solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of FIS Apex and Transcend applications, including global functionality and workflows.
• Analyze and re-engineer US-specific legacy application flows to align with global standards.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading tasks for Transcend implementation.
• Ensure code quality and adherence to delivery timelines.
• Propose and implement solutions following best practices and design principles.
• Contribute to the firm’s transformation agenda by adopting standard toolchains and migrating infrastructure to the cloud.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn new technologies and tools as required.

Required Qualifications

• 6–12 years of experience in Core Java/J2EE development with Spring, Hibernate, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases (Oracle/MSSQL) on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Experience building multithreaded, real-time systems handling high message volumes using middleware such as Tibco EMS/RV, IBM MQ, Solace, or Kafka.
• Proficiency in XML and JSON message parsing, publishing, and integration.
• Familiarity with development tools and version control systems (Maven/Gradle, JIRA, Git) and experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Git).
• Knowledge of scheduling tools like Autosys.
• Strong understanding of programming concepts, design patterns, and multi-tier enterprise architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with reporting tools such as iReports.
• Exposure to Cloud/DevOps tools.
• Knowledge of investment banking domains (Fixed Income – Bonds/Repo) or Collateral Management and Optimization.
