Alteryx, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for Orchestration & Job Execution on the Cloud Platform. You will design and operate backend services, race through orchestration tasks, and ensure reliable job flows in a modern cloud environment.

Bring 2+ years building production software, proficiency with TypeScript/Node.js, and experience with distributed systems, queues, and persistence. The role emphasizes collaboration, testing, and robust, observable systems in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on production software experience.
• Backend services, APIs, or background workers with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Ability to design small-to-medium systems or APIs with some ambiguity.
• Understanding of asynchronous and distributed processing concepts.
• Experience with durable persistence, service integrations, logs, metrics, and observability.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests; basic security and reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend services, APIs, workers, and libraries powering cloud platform capabilities.
• Build systems for orchestrating work across services: submission, tracking, status, retries, cancellation, results, observability.
• Develop reliable asynchronous and event-driven systems using queues, messaging, and durable state.
• Work on distributed execution flows, including service-to-service communication, routing, and failure recovery.
• Build and maintain cloud-native runtime infra using containers, Kubernetes, deployment automation.
• Integrate platform services with persistence layers, event streams, REST APIs, and internal contracts.
• Improve production reliability with metrics, tracing, logging, health checks, dashboards and runbooks.
• Participate in code reviews, fix bugs, and raise quality through feedback; collaborate with partner teams.
• Leverage AI and modern tools to boost productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
